Long Point Light marks the very tip of Cape Cod, a slender spit of sand extending into Cape Cod Bay. This small, white lighthouse has guided mariners since 1827 and is now part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Reaching it requires a boat trip from Provincetown or a strenuous 6-mile hike across the beach and dunes. The reward is a sense of isolation and stunning 360-degree views of the bay and ocean, with the Provincetown skyline in the distance.

Don't miss

  • Picnic on the remote sand spit with views of the lighthouse and Provincetown.
