Lake Dardanelle is a 34,000-acre reservoir along the Arkansas River, created by the Dardanelle Lock and Dam. Visitors come for its excellent fishing for catfish, crappie, and bass, as well as boating and watersports. The surrounding Lake Dardanelle State Park provides campgrounds, picnic areas, and hiking trails with sweeping views of the Ozark and Ouachita mountains. Birdwatchers can spot bald eagles and waterfowl, especially in winter. The lake's calm waters and scenic shoreline make it a popular spot for family outings and nature photography.
