The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center, operated by the U.S. Forest Service, serves as both a visitor center and museum dedicated to the Tongass National Forest. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits on temperate rainforest ecology, Alaska Native cultures, and the region's history of logging and fishing. The center features a life-sized diorama of forest and marine life, as well as a theater showing films about Southeast Alaska.
