Saxman Totem Park, located just south of Ketchikan, is home to one of the largest collections of standing totem poles in the world. The park features over two dozen intricately carved poles, many of which were salvaged from abandoned Tlingit villages and restored by skilled carvers. A highlight is the Beaver Clan House, a full-size replica of a traditional Tlingit clan house where visitors can watch carving demonstrations and learn about the stories behind the poles. The park provides a vivid window into the artistry and oral traditions of the Tlingit people.

Don't miss

  • Admire the towering totem poles, each telling a unique clan story
  • Watch master carvers at work in the Beaver Clan House
  • Attend a cultural performance with Tlingit dance and music (seasonal)
