Saxman is a Tlingit village located about 2.5 miles south of Ketchikan, famous for its Totem Park, which houses the world's largest collection of standing totem poles. The park includes the Saxman Native Village, where visitors can watch master carvers at work, attend traditional dance performances, and explore the Beaver Clan House. The community itself is a living Native settlement, offering an authentic glimpse into Tlingit heritage. The totem poles, many of which are replicas of historic poles, tell stories of clan history and legends.
