The Harbour Town Light is a red-and-white striped lighthouse built in 1970, serving as the centerpiece of the Harbour Town marina in Sea Pines Resort. While not a historic maritime beacon, it has become an iconic symbol of Hilton Head Island. Visitors can climb the 114 steps to the top for a panoramic vista of the marina, Calibogue Sound, and the surrounding Lowcountry landscape. The lighthouse also houses a small museum and gift shop at its base, and the adjacent grassy area is perfect for picnics and watching boats come and go.

Don't miss

  • Climb to the top for a 360-degree view of the marina and Calibogue Sound
  • Visit the museum at the base to learn about the lighthouse's construction and local maritime history
  • Watch the sunset from the lighthouse lawn, a popular photo spot
