The Naha Stone is a massive basalt boulder weighing about 7,000 pounds, resting in front of the Hilo Public Library within Kalākaua Park. According to Hawaiian legend, only a person of royal lineage could move the stone; the young Kamehameha I is said to have lifted it, proving his destiny to unite the islands. Today, visitors can view the stone up close and read interpretive signs about its history. It's a tangible link to Hawaii's ancient past and a must-see for history enthusiasts.
