Der Stadt Friedhof, or City Cemetery, is the final resting place of Fredericksburg's founding German families. Established in the 1840s, its weathered headstones bear German inscriptions and intricate carvings. The cemetery is notable for its Sunday Houses, small stone structures where rural families would stay overnight after attending church. Walking the grounds offers a quiet reflection on pioneer life and the community's deep roots.
