The Downtown Cody Historic District encompasses several blocks of Cody's original commercial core, with buildings dating from the early 1900s. Many structures feature distinctive Western architecture, including false fronts and stone facades. Today, the district is a vibrant hub for shopping, dining, and cultural attractions, with art galleries, boutiques, and cafes lining the streets. Visitors can stroll along Sheridan Avenue and explore the historic Irma Hotel, built by Buffalo Bill himself, or browse the many Western-themed stores. The district also hosts summer events like the Cody Nite Rodeo and street festivals.
