Thuya Garden is a meticulously maintained formal garden set on a rocky ledge overlooking Northeast Harbor. Created in the early 20th century by landscape architect Joseph Henry Curtis, the garden features terraced beds filled with perennials like delphiniums, phlox, and daylilies, arranged in a symmetrical English-style design. A central reflecting pool adds to the tranquility, while the surrounding woods and distant water views provide a dramatic backdrop. Visitors can wander the gravel paths, relax on benches, and enjoy the ever-changing seasonal colors. The adjacent Thuya Lodge houses a natural history library, adding a touch of history.
