Aspen Mountain, locally known as Ajax, is a premier ski destination renowned for its expert-level terrain and deep powder. The mountain's slopes were once home to thriving silver mines, and remnants of that era can still be seen. Visitors can ski or snowboard on over 100 trails, many of which are rated advanced or expert, while enjoying panoramic views of the Elk Mountains. The historic Silver Queen Gondola provides access to the summit, where the Sundeck restaurant offers a unique dining experience at 11,212 feet. In summer, the mountain transforms into a hub for hiking and biking, with wildflower-lined trails and scenic overlooks.
