Chester Castle

Chester Castle, originally built by William the Conqueror in 1070, stands on the site of a Roman fort. Today, the complex includes the Agricola Tower and the remains of the Roman walls and barracks. The castle's museum, part of the Grosvenor Museum, displays artifacts from the Roman period, including tombstones and everyday objects. Visitors can explore the castle grounds, climb the Agricola Tower for panoramic views, and see the Roman hypocaust (underfloor heating system).
