Tenby Castle stands on a rocky promontory overlooking the town's two main beaches, North Beach and South Beach. Built in the 12th century, the castle played a key role in the region's medieval conflicts, but today only fragments remain, including a crumbling tower, sections of curtain wall, and a gatehouse. The site is now a public park, and visitors can wander freely among the ruins, reading interpretation boards that explain its history. The headland's grassy slopes are a popular picnic spot, and the views across Carmarthen Bay to Caldey Island are spectacular.
