Pentire Head is a National Trust-owned promontory offering some of Cornwall's finest coastal scenery. The headland's grassy slopes are dotted with wildflowers in spring and summer, and the path leads to dramatic viewpoints overlooking the jagged outline of the Rumps and the sheltered inlet of Port Quin. The area is rich in wildlife, including butterflies and seabirds. A circular walk from the car park takes in the entire headland, with benches for quiet contemplation of the sea.
Don't miss
- Hike the circular coastal path to the tip of Pentire Head for expansive views
- Spot wildflowers and butterflies in the unimproved grassland
- Look down on the Rumps, a twin-headed headland with Iron Age cliff castles
