Gylen Castle is a striking ruin of a tower house built in 1582 by the MacDougall clan, perched on a rocky promontory on the south coast of Kerrera. Though roofless, its thick stone walls and arched windows remain, providing a atmospheric glimpse into the past. The castle's location offers breathtaking views across the Firth of Lorn to the Isle of Mull. A short hike from the ferry landing leads to the castle, making it a rewarding destination for history buffs and photographers alike.
