The Battle of Culloden was the decisive clash of the 1745 Jacobite Rising, fought on 16 April 1746 near Inverness. Today, the battlefield is a preserved landscape with a modern visitor centre that tells the story through interactive exhibits, artifacts, and a film. Visitors can walk the moor along marked trails, see the memorial cairn and clan stones, and reflect at the graves of the fallen. The site offers a poignant, immersive experience of this pivotal moment in Scottish history, with knowledgeable guides available.
