The West Hill Cliff Railway is a Victorian funicular railway that has been carrying passengers up the steep West Hill since 1891. Visitors board one of two original wooden carriages for a short but scenic ascent, emerging near Hastings Castle and the East Hill Lift. From the top, you can enjoy sweeping views over the town, the beach, and the sea. The railway operates year-round and is a charming, nostalgic way to reach the hilltop attractions without a strenuous climb.
