The People's Palace is a free museum located in a striking red sandstone building at the edge of Glasgow Green. Opened in 1898, it offers a vivid journey through Glasgow's social and industrial history, with exhibits on everything from working-class life to the city's famous shipbuilding heritage. Visitors can explore artifacts, photographs, and interactive displays that tell the stories of ordinary Glaswegians. The attached Winter Gardens, a lush Victorian glasshouse with exotic plants, provides a serene finale to the visit.

Don't miss

  • The recreated 1930s Glasgow street scene with original shop fronts
  • Exhibits on the city's tobacco lords, trade unions, and suffragette movement
  • The Winter Gardens' tropical plants and the historic Doulton Fountain just outside
