Glasgow Cathedral, also known as St. Mungo's Cathedral, is a magnificent example of Scottish Gothic architecture dating from the 12th century. It is one of the few medieval cathedrals in Scotland to have survived the Reformation without significant destruction. Visitors can explore the soaring nave, the atmospheric lower church (crypt) believed to house the tomb of St. Mungo, and the beautiful stained glass windows. The adjacent Necropolis offers panoramic views of the city. The cathedral remains an active place of worship, adding a sense of living history to the visit.

Don't miss

  • Admire the intricate stone vaulting in the crypt, one of the finest in Scotland.
  • See the modern stained glass windows, including works by artists like Francis Spear.
  • Walk through the adjacent Glasgow Necropolis for Victorian funerary art and city views.
