The River Nevis rises in the mountains above Glen Nevis and flows 12 miles to Loch Linnhe. Its crystal-clear waters tumble over rocks and form small waterfalls, including the popular Steall Falls. The river's banks are lined with walking trails, from easy riverside strolls to challenging hikes up Ben Nevis. Visitors can picnic by the water, fish for salmon and trout, or simply enjoy the sound of rushing water. The river's pristine condition makes it a haven for dippers and other aquatic birds.
Don't miss
- Steall Falls, a 120-metre waterfall accessible via a short hike
- Riverside trails in Glen Nevis with views of Ben Nevis
- Fishing for wild salmon and brown trout (permit required)
