Beachy Head Lighthouse stands at the foot of the iconic Beachy Head cliffs, marking a dangerous stretch of coast. Built in 1902, the red-and-white striped tower is 43 meters tall and was automated in 1983. At low tide, visitors can walk across the exposed beach to view the lighthouse up close, though it is not open to the public. The lighthouse is a popular subject for photographers, especially when framed against the white chalk cliffs. It remains an active aid to navigation.
