Bayard's Cove Fort is a small, squat stone fort built in the early 16th century to protect Dartmouth's inner harbour. Its thick walls once housed cannons aimed at the river, and today visitors can explore the roofless structure and imagine its defensive past. The fort offers a quiet spot with excellent views of the Dart estuary and passing boats, making it a pleasant stop on a walk along the waterfront.
