Arlington Row is a celebrated row of weavers' cottages dating from the 17th century, originally built as a monastic wool store and later converted into homes for weavers. These honey-colored stone cottages, with their steeply pitched roofs and mullioned windows, are a quintessential Cotswold image. Visitors can walk along the lane in front of the cottages, capturing the famous view that has appeared on countless postcards and in films. The cottages are still privately occupied, so while you cannot enter, the exterior alone is a highlight of any visit to Bibury.

Don't miss

  • Photograph the classic view of the cottages from the lane in front.
  • Notice the original stone slate roofs and leaded windows.
  • Read the information board near the cottages for historical context.
