Black Grave is an enormous earthen mound dating to the 10th century, believed to be the burial site of a Varangian prince. Standing over 10 meters high, it is one of the largest such mounds in Eastern Europe. Archaeological excavations revealed weapons, jewelry, and remnants of a funeral feast. The site offers a tangible link to the Viking-era history of the region and is a short walk from the city center, set in a quiet park area.
