The Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC), often called the National Theatre, is the heart of Kampala's performing arts scene. Located on De Winton Road, the complex includes a main theater, an outdoor amphitheater, and the Uganda Museum of Performing Arts. Visitors can attend plays, traditional dance performances, live music concerts, and art exhibitions. The center also runs workshops and cultural festivals. Even without a show, the building's modernist architecture and the lively atmosphere of the adjacent craft market make it a worthwhile stop for anyone interested in Ugandan culture.

Don't miss

  • Watch a traditional dance performance by the Ndere Troupe or other resident groups.
  • Browse the craft market outside for handmade souvenirs and local art.
  • Check the schedule for contemporary plays, comedy nights, or music gigs.
