Housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century mansion in Konak, the İzmir Ethnography Museum offers an intimate glimpse into the region's cultural heritage. The museum's galleries display traditional Turkish costumes, intricate carpets and kilims, embroidered textiles, and household items such as copperware and wooden tools. Visitors can also see a recreated bridal chamber and a typical Ottoman-era living room. The museum provides a vivid contrast to the ancient artifacts of the nearby Archaeological Museum, focusing instead on the living traditions of the recent centuries.

Don't miss

  • Exquisite collection of handwoven Anatolian carpets
  • Traditional bridal chamber with ornate textiles
  • Display of everyday objects like coffee sets and kitchenware
