A bit of history

Cagaloglu Hamami was commissioned by Sultan Mahmud I in 1741 and designed by architect Abdullah Aga. It served as a public bath for centuries and was famously depicted in paintings by European travelers. The hamam has hosted numerous celebrities, including Florence Nightingale and Kaiser Wilhelm II.
