Saint Gregory of Nyssa Church, now functioning as a mosque, is a relic of Trabzon's Byzantine past. Originally built during the Komnenos dynasty, the structure retains its cross-in-square plan and a dome supported by four columns. Fragments of frescoes and decorative stonework hint at its former Orthodox use. After the Ottoman conquest, it was converted into a mosque, with a minaret added to the northwest corner. Visitors can explore the blend of Christian and Islamic architectural elements, a testament to the city's layered history.
