Balıklıgöl, also known as the Pool of Sacred Fish, is a tranquil religious site in Şanlıurfa. According to Islamic tradition, this is where the Prophet Abraham was thrown into a fire by King Nimrod, but the flames turned into water and the firewood into fish. Today, the pool is filled with large, protected carp that visitors can feed. The surrounding complex includes the Halil-ur-Rahman Mosque and a peaceful garden, making it a major pilgrimage destination. Visitors often pause to reflect and observe the fish, which are considered blessed.
