Sultan Isa Medrese is a historic Islamic school (medrese) located in the heart of Mardin's old town. Built in 1385 by the Artuqid ruler Sultan Isa, it is one of the finest examples of medieval Islamic architecture in the region. The building features a striking façade with intricate stone carvings, including geometric patterns and calligraphy. Inside, a peaceful courtyard is surrounded by arched porticos and student cells. The medrese also houses a small mosque. Today, it serves as a cultural center and museum, offering visitors a chance to appreciate the craftsmanship of the Artuqid period and enjoy a quiet respite from the bustling streets.
