The Sahip Ata Museum occupies a beautifully restored 13th-century Seljuk caravanserai, once a resting place for traders along the Silk Road. Its ethnographic exhibits showcase the daily life and traditions of the Konya region, including nomadic yurts, traditional costumes, carpets, and household items. The building itself is a highlight, with its grand portal and vaulted halls. Visitors can wander through rooms that evoke different aspects of local culture, from weaving to metalwork, all set within the atmospheric stone walls of the caravanserai.
Don't miss
- A full-scale replica of a nomadic yurt, complete with furnishings and textiles.
- An extensive collection of handwoven Konya carpets and kilims.
- The caravanserai's original architecture, including its impressive entrance portal and courtyard.
