Telmessos was an important Lycian city whose ruins are now integrated into the modern town of Fethiye. The most prominent remains include a Hellenistic theater carved into a hillside, with seating for about 5,000 spectators, and numerous rock-cut tombs dotting the cliffs. Visitors can explore the theater, which still hosts occasional performances, and wander among the tombs, including the famous Tomb of Amyntas. The site also features remnants of city walls and a Roman bath. Unlike many ancient sites, Telmessos offers a unique blend of history and everyday life, with ruins visible among shops and houses.
