Bodrum Castle, also known as the Castle of St. Peter, is a formidable medieval fortress constructed by the Knights Hospitaller between 1402 and 1522 using stones from the nearby Mausoleum. Today, it houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, which displays artifacts recovered from shipwrecks in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, including the world's oldest known shipwreck. Visitors can explore the castle's towers, ramparts, and dungeons, as well as the museum's exhibits of ancient glassware, amphorae, and a reconstructed merchant ship. The castle also offers panoramic views of Bodrum's harbor and the surrounding coastline.
