Huevos Island is a protected nature reserve, part of the Bocas Islands group. It is a haven for birdwatchers, with large colonies of frigatebirds, brown pelicans, and boobies nesting along its cliffs. The island's beaches, such as the main landing beach, are untouched and offer excellent swimming and snorkeling in clear, shallow waters. There are no facilities or permanent structures, so visitors must bring their own supplies. The island's name, Spanish for 'eggs', is said to refer to the shape of its hills or the abundance of seabird eggs.

Don't miss

  • Observe nesting seabirds like frigatebirds and pelicans from a respectful distance
  • Snorkel in the clear, shallow waters off the main beach
  • Walk the undeveloped shoreline for a true wilderness experience
