Wat Chalong, officially named Wat Chaitararam, stands as the spiritual heart of Phuket, drawing both locals and tourists seeking blessings and insight into Thai Buddhism. The temple complex features ornate chedis (stupas) and a grand viharn (assembly hall) housing the highly venerated statue of Luang Pho Chaem, a revered monk known for his healing abilities. Visitors can climb the steps of the 60-meter-tall Phra Mahathat Chedi, which contains a fragment of Buddha's bone, for panoramic views of the surrounding area. The grounds are peaceful, with gardens and smaller shrines dedicated to various Buddhist figures.
