Doi Suthep–Pui National Park encompasses over 260 square kilometers of mountainous forest, protecting the watershed around Doi Suthep and Doi Pui peaks. Visitors can explore several hiking trails, ranging from easy walks to challenging treks, leading to viewpoints, hill-tribe villages, and waterfalls like Huay Kaew and Monthathan. The park is home to diverse flora and fauna, including wild orchids, birds, and occasional gibbons. The cool climate makes it a refreshing escape from Chiang Mai's heat. Many combine a temple visit with a nature hike or a stop at the Hmong hill-tribe market.

Don't miss

  • Hike to the Doi Pui summit for views and a visit to a Hmong village
  • Cool off at Monthathan Waterfall, a multi-tiered cascade
