Peking duck has always been fabulous, I love it so so much. You can choose the flavor for the meat as well. Other menus are also delicious, no doubt. Thus, I don't like the way this restaurant manage the queue. They should have the number for each group seriously. Last time I came here, there's a bunch of people waiting at the stairs. The staff is very nice, worth 5% of service charge. If they could improve the waiting line, everything would be perfect. Also, I was able to pay by credit card with no extra charge.
This restaurant really does live up to its reputation. It’s known primarily for 3 things: Dim Sum, Peking duck and the hidden bar. I was able to sample two of those. The dim sum was really superb. Freshly made, high quality and fast delivery to your table. Really excellent food. The soup dumplings were as good as the Din Tai Fun ones I had two days prior. The table next to me ordered the Peking Duk and I really have to come back to this restaurant for that because it looked really good! Yes, there is a hidden bar behind the upstairs bookcase. If you’re eating upstairs, you’ll notice a constant stream of tourists coming up to take their Instagram photos. I’ll leave a review of the bar in a separate posting. Needless to say this restaurant is highly recommend recommended!
Shocking and terrible experience at this restaurant. After paying for our food (-THB4500) we took another couple of beers. On trying to pay for extra beers the staff said we had not paid the original bill. They were very aggressive and said they could check by counting the cash in the till and looking at video. We demanded they do this and asked to see management. They dragged this out and hours later only shared clips and a video showing money being counted but no conclusive evidence. It was horrible and very upsetting- there were no management on the premises or anyone who spoke English except a junior person whose English was poor. This was a scam and we were robbed. AVOID.
Nice place but a very expensive meal, as we ordered too much. The duck is way too much for 2 people. Don't think you can do it justice even if they say so. Also, this is not the same shredded duck pancakes you have in the UK. Beware, they serve duck skin in pancakes, then take the duck meat away to bring back in another form. Sweet and sour did not taste of duck so was disappointed. Dim sum was delicious.
