Went there for a day visit. Because they allow sleeping guests only to use their swimming pool, my daughters went to the beach side just outside the hotel. It was calm and beautiful but one boy was following my daughters so we had to leave. The food was ok. Pizza had fishy smell though.
Went to the restaurant only as a non hotel guest. Vibes was really nice, great vibe and good chairs for just lounging. Waiters were cool and helpful and the pre meal starter was great to snack on. The grilled fish dish wasn’t the most exciting and they didn’t have WiFi for non guests. But I would still come back for the laid back vibes.
The location is very nice and also the beach bar, lounge and restaurant. One of us has been here before and it was the second time since 2022. The prices went somehow up (almost European standard by charging TZS 8.000,00 for a normal capucchino cup which are € 3.10 and a bottle of standard white wine TZS 63.000,00 which are € 25.00, 1l of water is TZS 6.000,00 which are € 2.35 and very expensive for here served in plastic bottles). But food and drinks are tasty and good quality and sitting with an ocean view and in the open restaurant, lounge, bar or whatever you call it, is somehow special. Also the illumination of the place starting with darkness is gorgeous. We liked it a lot. Last but not least: The staff is very friendly with some language barrieres but that is Tanzania and the charme of travelling abroad. BUT: So sorry but the rooms are in a very poor condition! They urgently need a make over! Very simple furniture and things are hanging around (like sockets) or do not even work (our toilet and air condition). Shortly before midnight (it was only new years eve😉) we had to move our room because the toilet flooded the bathroom floor and the needed part nobody was able to get because of the special day and day time. We moved in a "suite" and the standard got even worse. I have seen the most dreadful toilett brush in my life and the shower tap is covered by limescale almost completely. The design of the room has definitely not been made by somebody from the hotel industry. The gap between the bed and a shelf (why was it there anyway?!) is almost impassable. When you enter the room all the switches are behind the door. Also challenging in darkness. CONCLUSION: Lovely location but no heart. Feels like nobody takes seriously responsibility and cares about the property. Food on its own is not the only thing which makes a stay special, warm and unforgettable. PS:
