The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) operated from this purpose-built complex in Arusha from 1995 to 2015, prosecuting those responsible for the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Visitors can tour the courtrooms, including the main chamber where landmark cases were heard, and view exhibits documenting the tribunal's work. The building's modern architecture contrasts with its solemn purpose, offering a sobering educational experience about international law and genocide prevention. Though the tribunal has closed, the site remains open for guided visits.
