Wentai Pagoda, constructed in 1387 during the Ming dynasty, is a five-story granite structure that served as a navigation aid for ships. Visitors can climb the narrow spiral staircase to the top, where sweeping views of the Taiwan Strait and surrounding islands await. The pagoda's weathered stones and intricate carvings reflect centuries of history. The site is surrounded by a small park with benches, making it a peaceful spot for contemplation. It remains one of Kinmen's most iconic landmarks.
Don't miss
- Climb to the top for a 360-degree view of the coast and outlying islets.
- Examine the ancient stone carvings, including Buddhist motifs and inscriptions.
- Photograph the pagoda at sunset when the granite glows golden.
