Shoushan, also known as Monkey Mountain, is a coastal nature reserve that provides a rugged escape from the city. Hikers can explore well-maintained trails through tropical forest, encountering troops of wild Formosan rock macaques along the way. The summit rewards visitors with sweeping views of Kaohsiung Harbor and the city skyline. The area is also rich in coral limestone formations and offers a glimpse of Taiwan's native flora and fauna.
