The Black Bat Squadron Memorial Hall in Hsinchu commemorates the secret Black Bat Squadron, a group of Taiwanese pilots trained by the CIA to conduct reconnaissance and airdrop missions over mainland China in the 1950s and 1960s. The museum features declassified documents, photographs, and aircraft models, along with personal stories of the pilots who risked their lives. Visitors can see a restored P-2V Neptune patrol plane outside and learn about the squadron's covert operations, which remained classified for decades.

Don't miss

  • A full-scale P-2V Neptune aircraft displayed outdoors
  • Original mission logs and declassified CIA documents
  • Personal artifacts and photographs of the squadron pilots
