Longluan Lake is the largest natural lake on the Hengchun Peninsula, a tranquil expanse of freshwater surrounded by dense wetlands and low hills. It's a premier birdwatching destination, especially during migration seasons when hundreds of species stop over, including waterfowl, egrets, and raptors. A paved cycling path encircles much of the lake, offering easy access for leisurely rides with constant water views. Visitors can also walk along wooden boardwalks that extend into the wetlands, providing close-up encounters with aquatic plants and birds. The lake's calm atmosphere contrasts with Kenting's bustling beaches, making it a peaceful retreat for nature lovers.

Don't miss

  • Spot migratory birds like black-faced spoonbills and common kingfishers from the lakeside trails.
  • Cycle the 3.5 km loop path around the lake, enjoying shaded sections and open vistas.
  • Walk the wooden boardwalk into the wetlands for an immersive nature experience.
