The Gemarrin Bridge, located a few kilometers east of Bosra, is a remarkable example of Roman bridge construction in Syria. Built from large basalt blocks, the bridge features a single arch that gracefully spans the seasonal Wadi al-Zeidi. Visitors can walk across the bridge and examine the sturdy masonry, which has withstood centuries of use. The surrounding landscape offers a glimpse of the region's agricultural heritage, with olive groves and fields stretching toward the horizon. This site is less frequented than Bosra's famous theater, providing a peaceful setting to appreciate Roman infrastructure and its integration into the local environment.

Don't miss

  • Examine the single basalt arch, a testament to Roman engineering without mortar.
  • Walk across the bridge and imagine ancient travelers crossing the wadi.
  • Enjoy panoramic views of the wadi and surrounding farmland from the bridge.
