The Harderbahn is a funicular railway that ascends from Interlaken to the Harderkulm viewpoint at 1,322 meters. The ride takes about 10 minutes, climbing steeply through forested slopes. At the top, you step out onto a spectacular terrace that offers one of the most famous panoramic views in Switzerland: the entire Jungfrau region spread out before you, including the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks, as well as Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The highlight is the 'Harder Kulm' viewing platform, which extends out over the cliff edge, giving a thrilling sense of height. There is also a restaurant and a short nature trail. The funicular operates year-round, making it a reliable choice for any season. It's a quick and rewarding excursion, ideal for those short on time who still want a mountain-top experience.
