Perched on a mountain ridge at 2,000 meters above sea level, the Schynige Platte Alpine Garden is a living museum of alpine flora. The garden showcases over 600 species of plants native to the Swiss Alps, arranged in natural rock gardens and meadows. Visitors can wander along well-marked trails that wind through the garden, with interpretive signs explaining the plants' adaptations and uses. The setting is breathtaking: panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks frame the garden, and the air is crisp and thin. The garden is a peaceful retreat from the busier tourist spots, offering a chance to see rare flowers like edelweiss and gentian in their natural habitat. The experience is both educational and meditative, with the sound of cowbells and the scent of alpine herbs adding to the ambiance.
