Jungfraujoch, often called the 'Top of Europe,' is a glacier saddle between the Jungfrau and Mönch peaks in the Bernese Alps. Accessible via the Jungfrau Railway from Wengen, it boasts the highest railway station in Europe at 3,454 meters. Visitors are treated to sweeping views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest in the Alps, and surrounding peaks like the Eiger and Mönch. The Sphinx Observatory, perched atop a rock outcrop, provides a 360-degree panorama and houses scientific research facilities. Inside the complex, you'll find the Ice Palace, a network of tunnels carved into the glacier, and an Alpine Sensation exhibit showcasing the railway's history. The experience of standing on a glacier, surrounded by snow and ice, is both humbling and exhilarating, making it a must-visit for anyone in the region.
