Oberhofen Castle is a picturesque medieval fortress perched on the shores of Lake Thun, just a short distance from Spiez. The castle's history spans over 800 years, and today it operates as a museum where visitors can step back in time. The interior features richly furnished rooms from the 16th to 19th centuries, including a grand knights' hall, a chapel with original frescoes, and a smoking lounge decorated in Oriental style. The castle's towers offer panoramic views of the lake and surrounding Alps. Outside, the extensive English-style gardens are beautifully maintained, with flowerbeds, ancient trees, and a lakeside promenade. A visit here combines history, architecture, and natural beauty in one serene location.
