Grosse Scheidegg is a high mountain pass at 1,962 meters, connecting the villages of Grindelwald and Meiringen. The pass offers breathtaking views of the Eiger north face and the surrounding Bernese Alps. It is a popular starting point for hikes, including the trail to the Faulhorn summit. The road to the pass is closed to private vehicles, but a post bus runs from Grindelwald, making it accessible for day trips. At the pass, there is a mountain inn where you can enjoy traditional Swiss food while taking in the scenery. The area is known for its wildflowers in summer and its serene, unspoiled alpine landscape. Whether you're an avid hiker or just looking for a scenic drive, Grosse Scheidegg provides a memorable alpine experience.
