Brienzer Rothorn is a spectacular mountain peak that towers over the village of Brienz at 2,350 meters. The journey to the summit is an experience in itself, aboard a historic steam cogwheel railway that has been chugging up the mountain since 1892. As the train climbs through forests and alpine meadows, the views of Lake Brienz and the surrounding peaks become increasingly dramatic. At the top, a viewing platform and restaurant await, where you can soak in a 360-degree panorama of the Bernese Alps, including famous peaks like Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau on clear days. The area is also a starting point for hiking trails, ranging from leisurely walks to more challenging treks. Whether you come for the railway nostalgia, the hiking, or simply the breathtaking scenery, Brienzer Rothorn delivers an unforgettable alpine experience.
